Research and Development Centre

AHP’s Centre for Cardiovascular Research and Development (CCRD) is a unique centre for preclinical and clinical research in Poland. With the support of highly qualified staff and state-of-the-art equipment, CCRD conducts studies and advanced training programmes, as well as scientific training for physicians in the diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. CCRD employs a team of outstanding interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, pathomorphologists and biotechnologists. The Centre co-operates with numerous scientific institutions and enterprises across the world. It also provides educational services and conducts training programmes, also in renowned foreign centres.

The scientific team of American Heart of Poland are members of research consortia that apply for the funding of research and development projects from the EU 7th Framework Programme (VASCGREEN consortium), Polish-Swiss Research Programme (the MILESTONE project), and the grants offered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Their research focuses on the safety and effectiveness of new treatment methods and medicines, from preclinical studies in the Experimental Laboratory in Kostkowice to phase II and phase III clinical studies.

Polish-American Heart Clinics

Advanced medical solutions combined with high qualifications and professionalism of the medical personnel gave rise to a specialised network of cardiovascular departments: Polish-American Heart Clinics. Specialist diagnostic tests offered in these departments facilitate a quick and accurate diagnosis of cardiac and vascular pathologies, resulting in the optimal choice of therapeutic management. Physicians working at the AHP departments also offer consultations in specialist outpatient clinics at hospitals. Every patient using the services of the AHP Group has access to outpatient clinics specialising in cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery or internal diseases.

Ustroń Health Resort

Ustroń Health Resort specialises in cardiac, orthopaedic, neurological, pulmonological and oncological rehabilitation, as well as in the rehabilitation of lymphatic oedema. It is one of the largest centres of this kind in Europe. It offers intensive use of rehabilitation methods and natural therapeutic materials, such as saline and peloid from our own resources. This is a place where patients recover their well-being and health, even after very serious surgeries and diseases. Consultations with physicians allow to monitor patients’ health on a regular basis, and experienced physiotherapists guarantee a high level of care.

Heart Monitoring Centre

The Heart Monitoring Centre, located at the PAKS hospital in Tychy, is an important part of the AHP Group. Physicians and trained paramedics are there 24 hours a day, supervising the cardiac function of telemonitored patients. In life-threatening situations, the medical personnel can react immediately, and arrange direct assistance. Over 1,000 patients are users of telemonitoring services and receive approximately 2,200 urgent tests per month – every day their hearts are under careful supervisions of specialists.
